Hi Lani, I just wanted to let you know that I listened to your interview last night while drive from San Francisco to Santa Rosa. As someone who has lost both his parents (first my Father and more recently my Mother) you are an inspiration. The circumstances of both their deaths, my Father’s was quite sudden and my Mother’s was after 2 years fighting breast cancer during which I looked after her at home, and yes she did die at home, everything you said just resonated with me. I too found dealing with the death of my Father very difficult but it was very different with my Mother – I suppose I had such precious time with her and we went through a lot together. And in answer to the question about sudden deaths or being diagnosed with a terminal illness I would certainly opt for knowing as this helps in getting everything in order and everything said to those who will be left behind. It certainly is so much easier having had those 2 precious years with my Mother. Thank you for your inspiring and positive attitude and approach to what should be more openly discussed.
